On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Metro Atlanta Sigmas and Zetas hosted their annual Metro Atlanta Sigma and Zeta Founders’ Day Celebration. This annual event highlighted and honored our beloved founders, recognizing over a century of dedicated service, scholarship, and community engagement. Bro. Trae D. Johnson of the Sigma Eta Sigma Chapter served as the host, and Soror Karen Hughes and Soror Faye Rashid of the Sigma Mu Zeta Chapter served as co-hosts.

Dignitaries in attendance included Bro. Michael E. Cristal; 35th International President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Bro. Monaleto Irby; International Director of Collegiate Affairs, Bro. Dr. Walter Stephens; GA State Director, Soror Vicki Pearson; Zeta Southeastern Regional Director, and Soror Monique Purifoy-Rojas; Zeta State of Georgia Chief of Staff.

The keynote speaker was Bro. John Hope Bryant, a celebrated entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist. As the founder, chairman, and CEO of Operation HOPE, Inc., Bro. Bryant has been a relentless advocate for economic empowerment and financial literacy in underserved communities. His inspiring words and visionary leadership left a lasting impact on all who attended the Founders’ Day brunch. Bro. The event concluded with the heartfelt singing of the fraternity and sorority hymns from both organizations, closing the celebration with unity and pride.
