Sigma Eta Sigma Hosts Its 5th Annual Scholarship Luncheon

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. – Sigma Eta Sigma Chapter proudly hosted its 5th Annual Scholarship Luncheon at Woodland High School in Stockbridge, GA. The event was a remarkable celebration of academic achievement, community service, and the fraternity’s continued commitment to uplifting young men in the Clayton, Henry, Spalding, and Fayette Counties.
This year’s luncheon featured an inspiring keynote address from Bishop T.J McBride; Pastor of Tabernacle of Praise Church International. Bishop McBride’s message encouraged students to pursue excellence, stay rooted in faith, and serve as leaders within their communities. His dynamic words resonated deeply with students, families, and community members in attendance. At the end, he prayed for every collegiate and high school student at the event.
The highlight of the luncheon was the recognition of five outstanding young men representing high schools across Sigma Eta Sigma’s service area. These deserving students were selected for their academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to making a positive impact. Each scholar received a portion of the $10,000 scholarship awarded this year, which will assist them as they embark on their collegiate journeys.
With this year’s contribution, Sigma Eta Sigma Chapter has now proudly awarded a grand total of $41,000 in scholarships since its inception, a reflection of the chapter’s unwavering dedication to educational empowerment. The luncheon also marked a moment of reflection and celebration, as the chapter recently commemorated six years since its chartering in the McDonough, GA / Henry County community. In this short time, Sigma Eta Sigma has become a beacon of service, scholarship, and brotherhood, continuing the legacy of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
The chapter extends its gratitude to all sponsors, supporters, and community partners like Vystar Credit Union who have made these scholarships possible.
