Our Mission
The State of Georgia Phi Beta Sigma Military Affairs Committee exists to support, connect, and uplift Sigma men who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. Through advocacy, engagement, recognition, and service, we work to ensure that every military-affiliated brother remains informed, valued, and actively connected to the Brotherhood and the communities we serve.
Our Vision
We envision a Georgia Sigma Brotherhood where military service is honored, veteran leadership is amplified, and every brother who has worn the uniform continues to lead in service beyond the military. Our goal is to build a strong, visible network of Sigma veterans who inspire impact, strengthen communities, and embody our motto: Culture for Service and Service for Humanity.
Honoring Service. Supporting Brothers. Strengthening Communities.
The State of Georgia Military Affairs Committee of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. exists to ensure that our fraternity remains actively engaged in supporting the men who have worn the uniform of our nation and the families who stand beside them. Guided by the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, we work to connect military-affiliated brothers with resources, recognition, and opportunities for continued leadership and community impact.
Our mission is to promote veteran advocacy, foster military brother engagement, highlight service achievements, and ensure that Sigma remains a visible force in supporting those who serve and have served.
Our Focus Areas
Veteran Support & Advocacy
We work to ensure that veteran brothers are informed, supported, and connected to resources that strengthen their transition, well-being, and continued leadership. This includes coordination with veteran service organizations, sharing benefits information, and amplifying advocacy efforts that impact Georgia’s veteran community.
Brother Engagement & Outreach
The committee promotes active involvement of military-affiliated brothers across the state by encouraging participation in chapter activities, state initiatives, service projects, and mentorship opportunities. We strive to ensure that no military brother stands alone within the Brotherhood.
Recognition & Honors Program
Through initiatives such as Veteran of the Quarter and Chapter of the Quarter, we highlight Sigma men and chapters who demonstrate outstanding service to veterans and the community. These recognitions reinforce our commitment to honoring those who continue to lead beyond the uniform.
Military & Veteran Events Coordination
The committee supports and promotes participation in key observances including Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Pearl Harbor Remembrance, community ceremonies, and service initiatives across the state. We also assist chapters in developing meaningful veteran-focused programs within their local communities.
Communication & Information Sharing
Through newsletters, announcements, and the State Military Affairs webpage, we provide updates on veteran initiatives, benefits information, fraternity recognitions, and opportunities for engagement. Our goal is to ensure every brother remains informed and connected.
How Chapters Can Engage

Our Commitment
Phi Beta Sigma recognizes that service does not end when the uniform comes off. Georgia Sigma veterans remain leaders in our communities, advocates for justice, and role models for future generations. The Military Affairs Committee stands ready to support every brother who has served and to ensure their contributions remain visible, valued, and celebrated.
Together, we honor the past, support the present, and build the future of service.
